Behind the brand

Hi, I'm Sarah.
Your Doodle's new best friend.

Ten years ago, I brought my first Doodle home. Like you, I was overwhelmed by conflicting advice online. "What food is safe?" "Why are they biting so much?"

I spent the next decade collaborating with veterinarians, certified trainers, and master groomers to find actual, evidence-based answers.

I built OurDoodle to be the honest, fluff-free resource I desperately needed back then.

Common Doodle Questions

Quick answers to the questions new owners ask us most.

No dog is 100% hypoallergenic. However, Doodles (especially F1B and multigenerational lines with curly coats) produce significantly less dander and shed very little. This makes them a highly recommended breed for families with mild to moderate pet allergies. Read our full allergy guide here.

These terms refer to generations. An F1 is a first-generation mix (50% Poodle, 50% Golden Retriever). An F1B is a backcross (usually 75% Poodle, 25% Retriever), which typically yields a curlier, more allergy-friendly coat. An F2 is the offspring of two F1 parents.

Depending on the coat type (fleece vs. wool) and length you prefer, a Doodle requires a professional haircut every 4 to 8 weeks. Furthermore, they require daily brushing at home using a slicker brush and metal comb to prevent severe matting close to the skin.
